Yosef Bekir, born 1971 in Afrin is a German-based artist of Kurdish-Syrian origine.
Bakir completed his training from 1984 to 1989 at the Art Center in Aleppo and studied from 1990 to 1994 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Damascus. He graduated with a diploma in painting. From 1994 to 1996 he completed a postgraduate degree in painting. Bakir has been living in Germany since 1997 and is a member of the Federal Association of Visual Artists.
